The Professional Development Centre (PDC) organise and facilitate a variety of events that give information on careers and the employability skills students can gain for their potential career. New events are always being added to the programme. Several sessions are hosted by employers who visit the university. You will earn points for attending workshops.

Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB)

CAB aims to provide the advice people need for the problems they face and improve the policies and practices that affect people's lives. CAB provide free, independent, confidential and impartial advice to everyone on their rights and responsibilities. You can participate as a volunteer for the Citizens' Advice Bureau.

If you volunteer for CAB, then you earn points per session attended.

PAL DEBRIEF SESSIONS- leaders only

Peer-assisted learning (PAL) is a model of student-to-student learning. PAL leaders facilitate groups of level 1 students giving them the opportunity to work together and further understand and solve any queries that might arise during their studies.

Attend debriefing sessions to feedback what went well and what requires improvement and earn 10 points per session (max 50 points per term)!

The Job Shop advertises a wide range of roles including the popular student ambassador scheme, administration, customer service, IT support and more. Most offer flexible working hours or are event-based so it’s easy to find work that meets your needs. You earn points for your part time work.
